Pottie Method Strength & Conditioning is the performance foundation behind everything we do at Pottie Method Training. Our program is led by Shane Pottie, an elite performance coach with over 14 years of experience in personal and athlete development, including serving as a Strength Coach for Team Nova Scotia in Olympic Weightlifting. Shane has trained both individual athletes and full teams across multiple levels of sport, bringing professional standards, proper progression, and long-term athlete development principles into every session.
This is hockey-specific performance training, not general fitness. Our athletes build real speed, power, strength, endurance, and durability in a safe, structured, and highly supervised environment that families trust and athletes are excited to return to. We focus equally on performance and injury prevention to keep athletes strong, healthy, and confident all season long.
Our Strength & Conditioning program develops:
- Explosive skating power & first-step acceleration
- Strength for puck battles, contact & physical confidence
- Core stability, balance & coordination
- Speed, endurance & shift-to-shift recovery
- Mobility, flexibility & joint health

DESCRIPTION:
Hockey is a long, demanding season, and maintaining peak performance requires more than just on-ice training. Our small group training program, designed for 6 to 8 athletes per group, keeps players strong, mobile, and explosive while preventing fatigue and injuries.
This high-performance program is tailored specifically for athletes, ensuring they remain at their peak condition from the start of the season to playoffs. Train smarter, play stronger, and stay at your best all season long.
DESCRIPTION:
The Strength & Conditioning Small Group Bundle is a high-performance, hockey-specific training option built for athletes who want more individual coaching, tighter structure, and faster results. This is not generic gym training or random workouts. Every session is designed with intent to develop real strength, speed, movement quality, and durability that carries directly onto the ice.
Athletes are coached, corrected, and progressed throughout each session. We emphasize proper mechanics, smart loading, accountability, and injury prevention to ensure athletes build strength without compromising movement quality or long-term health. This level of detail allows players to train at a high intensity while still receiving hands-on coaching within a small group setting.
With flexible scheduling and capped group sizes, this bundle is ideal for athletes looking to accelerate development, clean up movement patterns, and build a stronger physical foundation within the Pottie Method performance system.
FOCUS AREAS
- Hockey-specific strength & power development
- Speed mechanics & first-step acceleration
- Core strength, balance & full-body stability
- Mobility, movement efficiency & injury prevention
- Durable athletes built for contact and competition
- Long-term development without sacrificing health
DESCRIPTION:
Our Spring Small Group Training Program is the most critical transition phase of the entire year. This block is specifically built for post-season recovery, injury prevention, and full readiness for off-season performance training. After the physical toll of a long season, athletes don’t need random workouts — they need smart, structured rebuilding.
This is where the body is reset, weaknesses are corrected, and athletes are reloaded for their strongest off-season yet. We restore proper movement patterns, rebuild strength the right way, and prepare athletes to enter summer training healthy, explosive, and confident — not fatigued or broken down.
This phase is where great off-seasons are built.
SPRING TRAINING FOCUS
- Post-season recovery & full movement restoration
- Injury rehabilitation & prehab (hips, groins, knees, back, shoulders)
- Mobility, flexibility & joint health reset
- Core strength, posture & stability rebuilding
- Re-establishing proper sprinting, skating & lifting mechanics
- Re-entry conditioning without overload

This is why families and athletes trust our system and why so many choose to train here over traditional gyms or generic personal training.
